Finally
I walk a beaten path, through the snow winding through,
Trees, bushes, ice patches and footprints about to be forgotten
As they melt and slip away toward the muddy areas nearby
Where the soft impressions may last just a little bit longer
Many times, I would imagine you walking with me here
But, as time passes, dreams are replaced with other’s actions
As I awaken from dreams that have melted away too
Then, my hand reaches for another that will welcome me
As I am, with the same smile back at me, the same words, finally
