Feeling Crushed

Feeling crushed by the hand of fate;
dreams collapse and crumble away.
And abandoned to fear and hate,
emptiness consumes all my day.
Walking blind, convinced I can see;
anxiety rips me apart.
And questioning what defines me,
cascading doubts, fracture my heart.
All alone and bullied by fears,
lingering dreams swiftly depart.
And I drown in a pool of tears
as feelings of loneliness start.
Forsaking promises of youth,
I wonder why my birth took place.
And as deceit supplants the truth,
it's like the world is in my face.
Aching, I'm accustomed to pain;
being hurt by both foe and friend.
And on the fringes of disdain,
I thank God that life has an end.
