Fear

Year after year they've endured pain of raging fear Fear of destruction by a monster bomb is so clear Women and children suffer under a war so unclear Horror of death overtaken by disease and hunger Terror of brutal rape serves as a constant reminder Fear of destruction by a monster bomb is so clear Coping without necessities like toilets and water They have abandoned everything they so revere Terror of brutal rape serves as a constant reminder Nothing left anymore like shoes or clothes to wear When someone gets sick there's no medical care They have abandoned everything they so revere Moving from place to place looking awfully dire Families walk helplessly into places of despair When someone gets sick there's no medical care Each day of hope morphs as if end of life is near Year after year they've endured pain of raging fear Families walk helplessly into places of despair Women and children suffer under a war so unclear August 29, 2017 Fear; Sponsor: Debbie Guzzi

War brings untold miseries.... sickness, poverty and death ! People are made refugees and they flee from the mouth of danger to places not known. Perhaps greater uncertainty may greet them ! The horrors of war are starkly pictured in this great poem..... dear Vijay
