Facing the Sunrise
Facing the sunrise
I stand here
along this gravel path
on a silent morning
facing the sunrise
Like a single blade of grass
awaiting that which brings it life
peacefully waving on a springtime breeze
basking in the light
A newly bloomed daisy
longing the warmth on its face
resting gently on an emerald stem
smiling at a yawning horizon,
An oak tree, old but majestic,
branches reaching for a sky
of pastel hues and morning dreams
embracing the start of a new day
Yet I am none of these,
I am merely a man in love
facing the sunrise, awaiting that which
gives him life…you
Good morning Soupers
