Exposed To the World

Throughout my life I’ve kept unto myself my feelings and my thoughts held deep within, and stored like dusty books upon a shelf, preventing my emotions to begin. The thoughts I’ve been reluctant to confide lest hidden dreams left to the world to find; these inner thoughts that always did reside, are buried in the attic in my mind. But as I’ve gotten older now I see that maybe inner thoughts I should convey; perhaps to share these thoughts was meant to be, not keeping them forever locked away. And now as thoughts descend the attic stair, I feel somewhat exposed as soul is bare. October 18, 2019

This was so well executed John, I wasn't sure if the sonnet was going to connect with this challenge, but obviously did with me and the contest sponsor, congrats on placing in a very difficult premium contest challenge!

Thank, John, I appreciate it. I wasn't sure if it would connect either, but that's were my muse took me. I always was a bit of a rebel. John

A brilliant sonnet from a brilliant poet who seems to be the only one who performed the contest theme indirectly. Definitely fav.

Hello John~ I love your poem. Being one who never hid mine all my life, i know whats its like to get hit hard for so doing..We are a body of people not one person. Just because we are poets does not mean we are sane!)))) Many hurting and hurtful people here.. So, please use discretion. Panagiota I encourage you to share them with people you know in real life! Online life is not real.
