Exile
The dreary drudgery of detachment
straps the stinging strings of loneliness
around the bleeding bastion of my soul
when you abandoned me
to dwell in an eternal emptiness
where my heart lays hidden and wounded
deep in the dire depths of secluded shadows
beneath a sun that has been washed away
by dark cumulus clouds colliding on my horizon
where the sounds of thunder ring in my ears
as terrible tears fall from trembling eyes
when you exiled me from the garden of your heart
and left mine to wilt and die
in a black wilderness of empty emotions
where nothing will grow again
from the sacred seeds of love
