So true, I get so excited to check if I have messages here after I post a poem! The people in my life are supportive, but they don't understand the way a fellow poet does. I try to always read the poetry of anyone kind enough to read mine. In this way I've discovered some of my favorite poems! Best to you, Crystol

Poetry is a way of self expression and it gives us pleasure, relieves our mind of depressing thoughts and keeps us in awe of our creativity. As we read our old poems, we wonder from where we got so much inspiration. Dear Gordon, your poetry is always a pleasure to read. Keep penning inspirational poems.... fear friend

I too believe in encouraging the poets, for they so encourage me, Gordon. "Muses ebbed, Coleridge, Dickenson, to writer’s block they'd succumb.. Inspiration depleted, curtains drawn shut, I may never again peak Gloomy den, a chilling season, I listen to the wind, comfortably numb" The Ink Has Dried 10/19/22 Warmest wishes! ~Anaya

I have always said that it is a real blessing to read for other poets because when a poet shows you his/her writings that person shares with you a part of his/her heart and soul. You have a beautiful soul my friend. Thanks for sharing with us. God Bless, JB

Dear Gordon. Good Morning. I am certain we all second your words and thoughts to which you write with elegance and feeling. I also think your words are exactly why we write and post into the universe. Your entry in its entirety tells the story of poets and writers but the single word of songbird completes the story. Thank you for sharing. Keep on being the songbird. Blessings always (smile)

Thank you, for your encouraging words, Gordon, I am having a 'dry spell' at the moment hopefully something will come to mind soon that will inspire me to write. It is good therapy isn't it? I hope you are in good health and enjoying the week-end. Take care, Shirley

I agree, Gordon. We sinners have a lot on our minds, might as well share it with others through our poetry. Thanks for the encouraging words, my friend. A poet friend in Texas, Bill

Positive reinforcement of each other should be a mainstay of poets on this site, Gordon. Your lines are a good reminder of that. Well written.
