Elgy - for my wife
In the realm of grief, my heart lies,
Bound to my wife, love's eternal ties.
Her memory, a sweet melody,
Echoes within, through the years, softly.
Her life was a testament, pure and fair,
To the goodness and oneness we shared.
She embodied love, kindness, and grace,
Her spirit shone bright, lighting every place.
She found joy in life's simplest treasures,
In smiles, warm embraces, and shared pleasures.
Her compassion, a gentle, soothing balm,
Brought mutual understanding, a healing calm.
I carry her love, her laughter, her cheer,
A source of comfort, ever so clear.
Her wisdom, a beacon, shining bright,
Guides me through darkness, into the light.
Why do we wait for death's embrace,
To see the goodness, to offer grace?
Let us appreciate, while they breathe,
Kindness bestowed, their hearts will keep.
