Eagle On the Lake
Today seen rare beauty,
flying in the lonely sky,
caught this beautiful
creature on camcorder,
as he made its way
through the blue sky,
like a feather
without a care.
Wings spread so far,
in such a way to
let me know it
owned the sky,
as he landed on
the ice-covered lake,
still in a trance was I,
standing there for a while,
it made its way over to
the melted ice and began
to drink away the thirst
within his beautiful body,
then like the marvel
was he, wings spread
far and wide, up into
his throne in the sky,
flying high and
out of my sight, catching
all of this on film was
a thrill, that will stay with me.
Eagle on the lake,
hope we meet again
my dear friend, till
next time, goodbye.

Saw this Eagle
flying in the sky,
then I started filming it,
a few days before i wrote this poem.
It was at Jim Baker Reservoir in Denver, only
about 10 blocks from where I live.
