As twilight's shifting shadows slowly merge,
dusk extinguishes all lingering light.
And a spray of twinkling stars lights the night
as the blackness of space and night converge.
Indigo skies fade into ebony
as a dying sun bleeds on snow-capped rocks.
And time is tethered to inpatient clocks
that won't pause to behold transcendency.
A curtain of mist soon begins to form,
obscuring mountains behind veils of white.
And as darkness descends, eagles take flight
over a landscape; the night will transform.
Silence muffles the creatures of the dark,
scurrying from the light of the full moon.
And Luna rises like a gold doubloon
above a green oak tree with gilded bark.
