Death of a Loved One
"In December, bereavements caused me to suffer. It was a tipping point where all the things I'd coped with, suddenly I could not cope with as my emotional connection to all things, overwhelmed me.
Every pain of every person, cut me up and I felt powerless.
Through the gloom, beautiful things occurred. As my vision enhanced, magnified were huge currents of love sweeping us all along when we all stand together to celebrate a life."
Quote by Poet
What do I grieve
It's loss
Loss of the strands that connect the strands that made me me and them them
It's the tiny unravelling sections
Of a tapestry still being woven
The clear image that is destined to be lost to time
To happen over and over
The new section of tapestry doesn't wait
It doesn't allow time for grieving
Time marches on
I'm part of the section that's unravelling next
I know the same will happen
To the perfect pieces appearing
And I grieve
I grieve for the impermanence
Of our time together
It's seems insurmountable
To suffer this way
But you look back on the tapestry
And gaps from lost strands
Strands that were once where I am now
Those that saw what had been and
What was to come
And held fast despite the knowledge
So they haven't truly gone
Each time you touch a life
You leave a lasting impression
I perceived a tapestry
With missing faces
Connections forgotten
But I'm built from the bonds
That came before
The hands that
Held the hands
That held my hand
Now I'm holding hands
Building the bonds
And holding together
Whilst the new tapestry forms
Until my face and my strand disappear
Followed by memory of me
But the bonds stay strong
Because I was there when I needed to be
My hand in theirs, passing it forward
