Dr Dolittle

I was talking to a horse While it was grazing and eating hay But I don't think it understood a word that I said Because all it said was "Neigh" I was talking to a duck And it started talking back But I don't think I understood a word it said Because all it said was "Quack" I was talking to a cat And I think it understood me, somehow Because when I said- "It's time to eat" It said to me- "Meow" I was talking to a eagle Now we all know that eagles can't talk But I'll be damned, when I said- hello The thing began to "Squawk"

Can I ask my dog why he still chases blue jays at 12 years old? I don't know dog speak and it's so frustrating Google won't help. It would be fun to talk to a orangutan, don't you think? Your poem is funny, made me giggle and think of The Jungle Book movie
