Jan. It all fits Jan. The sadness, the sudden brevity when it’s too late. The matter of fact ness being left with it. Bravo. Kathy

Congratulations on your win Jan. It is so important that we bring to light the consequences of untreated clinical depression that robs so many of their talents, gifts and full life. Thank you many times over for your courageous poem shedding light on this the last of the "unacceptable" illnesses. All the best. hugs!

I have heard of a similar situation, a couple had an argument at a party and she grabbed the car keys and left without her phone. She had a tragic accident in the Magaliesberg mountains and her car went under a truck - it was in the early hours of a Sunday morning - she had no identification, no bag, they traced the registration of the car to her husband who was told some hours later. He committed suicide leaving two children orphans. Her parents adopted them. Sad, great write. Hugs Jenn.

Ouch! Nothing like depression to sink our hopes and hearts --- 'like lead,' as you said, Jan.

Well said, but I still do not understand why anyone would commit suicide; that is like failing in school, then dropping out only to have to do the same grade all over again until one passes!

A deep share, Jan. Just know that there is no heart too heavy for the Almighty not to lift. Through Him, be lifted up Grace, Faith, and Love. Soon, you will have tears of keloid memories of joys shared. Give those of pain to the ever-present Helper in times of need. Peace and Love.
