Quite a few people, including my late mother, battle depression every day. It IS like a prison for them. A powerful and compelling senryu. Best wishes in the contest! Hugs, Carolyn

Thank you Carolyn, it's certainly not not a nice place to be, that saying, your get up and go has got up and went sums it up. Tom

I can relate to this Tom. You described what it is like perfectly. I once was given medication that gave me depression as a side effect and I know exactly how it feels. It took several months to figure out what was causing it. xxoo

Thanks Anne, you're right, there's more help available now unlike years ago. There's always light at the end of the tunnel but for some it's a struggle to get there. Tom
