candles ... ten thousand flames floating on a glass lake, tender each, a drift its own ... a cadence a pattern, divine, rhythmic intended for its purpose a million million years hence lilies of light, plucked in perfection to bless the gaze ... calm in consideration the water kisses its inky black from the night cool to depths and actuality stolen from the reach at twilight ... but, were I a child with a heart of hopes and a garden of dreams to spin upon it would surely be the heavens and a trembling sea ... of suns. ~ 1st Place ~ in the "Strand Completely New 24, Any Form, Any Theme" Poetry Contest, Brian Strand, Judge & Sponsor.

Thank you kindly, Sir Edward - always a joy to hear from you, Brother, and I'm pleased you enjoyed this one! I'm not writing much right now, but what I DO write I will post, (and I enter a few of Brian's contests cuz I don't have to follow any directions, which, to me, can stifle creativity). I'll also be running a few contests, but that's it. Nice to still stay in touch with a few of my friends here! Blessings!

Thank you so much, John, that means a lot to me ... I'm enjoying writing these brief impressions - moments that bring up images and stories and past thoughts. Like my poem "One Kiss", (that I think was the first 1st place I ever got from you), instants in our lives hold far more than just one second of happening - they hold our lives within them. I love making those connections ... that's how I learn to value those momentary things even MORE. Blessings, Bud.
