December

The golden hues, late warmth of Fall will too soon fade As will the children's Summer laughter as they played The memory of Spring seems distant and unclear As Winter wraps its silent cloak around the year November or December Quatrain Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Caren Krutsinger Date written: 19th November 2022

December is so beautifully and concisely summed up. Winter has wrapped its white cloak around the year and we feel the gripping cold. Beautiful Quatrain, Terry!

Indeed. Not sure who has the best deal when December comes around. We are all readying our barbecues and sealing leaks in paddling pools down under but we have winter to look forward to after Christmas and you have summer. Either way we all need to make the most of the summers we have allotted to us. Your poem sums things up very succinctly and beautifully. Have a great Christmas David in NZ

Thank you, Andrea, this was meant to be the first verse of a longer poem, but once I had it on paper, I had nothing more to add.
