Everyone who has come to the fag end of life longs for a quick death without even one's knowing and not seeing death at our doorway for long and fearing it may barge in anytime! Great thoughts on death David. I liked the twist at the end.

And indeed Valsa, another reason to try make the most of the here and now, instead of thinking one is invincible, and death only happens to the sick and elderly, thanks for sharing your thoughts, cheers David

I agree with you, David. It's condescending to suggest to a grieving person that he/she get over it. Such negativity only hinders healing.

I do try enjoy every day to the max pangie, but some people take longer than others to grieve, it’s the price they pay for love, and it’s never one size fits all, I do get what you’re saying though, I’ve seen it in real life situations, but it’s hard to tell a genuinely upset person to get on with life, without upsetting them even more, most will come around themselves in time! Cheers David

I'm not going to ask what prompt flitted through your mind to write this morbid take on death... but since it will be inevitable for most mortals, you did it justice with your lines of avian death. Your senses have a depth that many would envy or despise. I feel a little of both when reading you, David.

High praise Jenna, I think we all experience the world slightly differently through our mind processor or brain, my filter probably just sets more finely on some days, and courser on others, envy or despise, yep I’ll take your critique as positive, and thank you kindly, cheers David

I have come to the conclusion that the best way to die is while I sleep. But I'm sure it's not up to me. Loved your poem. Best for a win.

I’m sure you’re right Victor peacefully in one’s sleep gotta be the way to go, I’ve seen both sides of the coin, and a lingering death although prolonged is not my choice, but like you said, it’s not up to us, take care, cheers David

Lights out, without a doubt but very tough on the bereaved Tom, no easy way in the end to go, but this Woodpecker thing or whatever it is, got its comeuppance for cawing a bit too much lol, cheers David

Snappy little piece! I have a particular love of falcons, perfection with wings I say. Enjoyed this macabre penning. xomo
