Dear Valentine
Dear Valentine, you drive me wild
I grab those chocolate morsels,
those cream-filled irises; and smile.
I can see you’ve melted; I’m warmed
by your spiralized eyes that speak
better than any candy heart, lead me
to the silky sheets; in my imagination
there are rose petals (we can’t afford).
Those open eyes, will close, and a yawn
will eventually allow you to breathe; spent
by the oneness we shared; spared death.
