Dance of the Northern Moon
The tribes all gather
For the festival of the moon dance
Fires lighted, shining into the sky
Northern lights off in the distance
Snow falls softly
As the ritual dance between young lovers
Brings memories to all the ancients
A Whale died for just such a day
Men of honor feed both body and spirit
The young learn from the old
The old absorb the love from the young
The circle of the north lives within us all
Fires burn bright in the skies
Passions fade onto loves embrace
Long into the midnight skies
Let us kiss our mothers in thanks
We shall kiss theirs for their wisdom
Their daughters we shall cherish within our arms
For mother earth lets us breath
So that we may dance yet once more
