Daddy
tension of paint,
basic then mixed,
browned and at last
blackened
but an artist can churn
a mess into a sunset
t.v. magic
especially for a sick kid
in the sixties
home from school
with a throbbing forehead
taste of bile
snotty sheets
and a daddy
who brings home
an ornamental pen
simplicity in love
rewind the clock
but not just yet
for i love this man
even more today
a simple hug
a kiss on his head
tension lost
