Foot Locker Cross Country West Regional Boys Race - YouTube

When short and running a cross country race The short guys know when to pick up the pace Just as we start up the hills For we know they’ll be some spills Odds say the tall men may fall on their face

Hahahahaha. The taller they are.... Brings back memories of my short-lived cross-country team experience in 9th grade. Only thing worse than practice was 'shaking hands' with your stiff jockstrap the next afternoon. gawd!! Smiles, gw

A wonderful limerick Bill. Tall people make good wind blocks too.

True again my friend. You're a pretty observant fellow. Jerry. You have a lot of good ol' common sense too I bet. Time to get some dinner. Bill

It is a cute limerick, though I hope no one falls. If someone is short but wants a participation athletics, I'd suggest Japanese martial arts. Limericks are so much fun.

Good suggestion, any sport that has the participants in weight or height categories is better, or if a man just identify as a woman. Some or going from average men competitors to champions and record setters as women. I don't approve of it though. Thanks for the comment, my friend. Have a pleasant week. Bill

It's the downhills Bill........wait....you're from Texas....there are no hills in Texas and 110 degrees but it's a dry heat....tell that to the next chicken you put in the oven...I never ran track unless you count running from the....well anyway...

Thanks for the fun comments, John I needed a good laugh today. Hey, we got hills, we even have mountains in Southwest Texas. The Rockies end in Texas. Just saying. :-) Have a great week, my friend. Bill

Got a kick out of your cross country running Limerick. Good point..I guess those tall guys have to work harder at keeping their balance :-) smiles. Were I still running, I'd no longer have to be concerned with falling since I'm shorter, right? :-) hugs, me

Thanks, for the comment, Tom. You're right in the sweet spot for a distance runner. I have to take about 200 more strides for each quarter mile than the average 6' runner. That's a lot more leg lifting going on, especially when I was running marathons. Have a pleasant day, my friend. Bill

Napoleon never won a marathon, Texas Bill. :o)

Thanks Silent One. This one is true, I won many race by pushing it up hills. Being short made it easier for me than for the average runner, usually 8-10" taller than me. Their height acted as resistance because of the gravitational pull backwards when running up hills. Have a pleasant day, my friend. Bill
