this forest path is strewn with fallen leaves
the red, gold, and yellow crunch beneath my feet
and the air is scented with their sweet decay
as light flows from a blue sky
I stand spinning still wrapped in threads of sunshine
and the dregs of summer are fading
oh, a gentle breeze sways the trees as they whisper my name
and hidden birds sing me a lovely Autumn melody
a stream not far washes over weathered rocks- speaking softly
the colors of Autumn are my wings today
