steady me/for a moment
make the world stop spinning
gift me balance to feel nothing
but present, in sync,
worries absorbed.
despite my act – I'm precarious,
awareness makes me need to cling on.
perfectly poised ~
that is what scares me.
why so apparently able,
stood offset but trusted, recruited,
faith in me, in existence
whilst I hover outside of it.
it's so nice to feel steady
~the world featureless~
everyone's circus faded and far away...
paper crowns suffer in the rain;
I can stand alone,
until everything drifts into focus ~
realise I stood for the whole time
only really fearing feeling afraid.
though I'll never dress for the weather,
maybe I'll lay in the dirt, painfully sane,
available option though rejected forever,
whilst I contemplate your steadying reign ~
your paper crown suffered in the rain.
