steady me/for a moment make the world stop spinning gift me balance to feel nothing but present, in sync, worries absorbed. despite my act – I'm precarious, awareness makes me need to cling on. perfectly poised ~ that is what scares me. why so apparently able, stood offset but trusted, recruited, faith in me, in existence whilst I hover outside of it. it's so nice to feel steady ~the world featureless~ everyone's circus faded and far away... paper crowns suffer in the rain; I can stand alone, until everything drifts into focus ~ realise I stood for the whole time only really fearing feeling afraid. though I'll never dress for the weather, maybe I'll lay in the dirt, painfully sane, available option though rejected forever, whilst I contemplate your steadying reign ~ your paper crown suffered in the rain.

The poem perfectly describes the painting. Kudos. Is Huynh a living artist. I never heard of him. As for the painting, it breaks the common rule of eye focus. I've been told that the main sight in a painting should not be centered. I always preferred breaking those silly rules. Your poem adds a clever story.

The subtle details in the back round. I like his style. Why does the man on the ball wear a crown? Why does she hold on so tightly? The circus is a mysterious world with flawed characters and disturbing attributes. That's why clowns delight some, and petrify others. You did an outstanding job giving life to the protagonists to you, subjects in the painting, and answering the questions. Faving (caption code is DD5)

Gosh Dilly this is such a fabulous interpretation of the picture which I find quite intriguing every time I look at it, i especially love "paper crowns suffer in the rain; I can stand alone, until everything drifts into focus ~ realise I stood for the whole time only really fearing feeling afraid." makes me wonder what was going on in the artist's mind when he created the image:-) hugs Jan xx

Thank you Jan :) there is a lot representing balance in this artists work.. How we stay balanced is forever intriguing - particularly when tipping almost too far makes us often better than tipping slightly. Thanks again

You have surpassed yourself with the crayons I sent you. I'm always never sure what paintings try to convey, unless the artist tells me. In saying that, if they're on a ball, they're heading for a fall.

The trick is to not be too bothered what the artist was trying to convey (depending on the painting, I do research it if it's pretty famous and there's a chance I'll miss the point). I just use the picture to take poetic leaps about. Cute way to tap into the subconscious :) thanks for your comment. Think they are fine whilst they remain perfectly still :)

Dear Di11y Da11y, I'm amazed at how deftly you captured the physical and emotional nuances of this art piece Circus Romance. What is portrayed in brushstrokes is conveyed in the artistry of your lush imagery and rich metaphors with poetic finesse. The repeating concept of paper crowns suffering in the rain is so impactful. Exquisite, alluring expression throughout! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan
