Childhood Nostalgia

. barefoot toes with sand
cool-aid stains on face and hand
        best friends forever
dreams were blossoms we might pick
      memories nestled in time

Ann, you have captured that fleeting essence of childhood - days at the beach, toes in the sand, friends, treats and the power of dreams then put them into words that will continue to glow "nestled in time!" Simply put - wonderful and totally delightful! Hats off to you! Congratulations!!

This is simply lovely Ann. Love the whole poem especially the line- 'dreams were blossoms we might pick'. Childhood fun is something we all greatly miss.

Lovely nosalgic Tanka, Ann. The older I get, the more precious are those childhood memories. I carefree days and the joy of summer with friends. Nice descriptions my friend. I'm going to follow your poetry, Ann. I like what I'm seeing here. A poet friend in Texas, Bill
