We began a new chapter in life, made a promise and commitment; we sealed it with a kiss, and a new chapter began for me. At night your kisses made me fly, we had so many dreams and hopes; oh, together we would get it all, our future was full of promise. Each new day was the best, as we took our time and enjoyed each step; head to head we talked about our dreams, and put together the perfect plan. And when you died, I cried because, here were years of loving ahead of us; but now I must find my way alone, and a new chapter begins for me. ____________________ May 9, 2017 Poetry/Verse/Chapter Copyright Protected, ID 17- 899-213-0 All Rights Reserved. The joy that began this poem slowly melted away as we arrived at the ending. Deeply sad my friend but beautifully written and a perfect entry for the contest. Best of luck to you.

Constance , you captured the essence of that song perfectly!! And you chose something so personal and close to you. Do you remember Karen Carpenter? Such a waste how she died so young.
