Yess, I did make up a word! ;)
The whole of my life is rather mundane, endured only until those few minutes gained; Yes, granted reprieve from this daily drudge, and allowed for the nonce, even if begrudged, to hold a feather, very sharp, to write with the tip. Slow and steady like a man taking sips…from the water of life after a long weary trip. When all the gears are lubricated, operating efficiently, and the needs of the world weigh on someone else, the mechanism of creativity connects with the crenelated cog of self. Dominoesk works cause my hand to haltingly write. Heart to mind, mind to body, body to hand, hand to quill…okay, so it's a keyboard, alright. Emotion, like sand after a beach trip, pours forth from places usually dark, not seen, unlit. Using that water of life and the sands of emotion, I build my castle with words and notions. Intricate battlements, portcullis, bailey , and arrow loops. Protection from arrows of interruption, darts of responsibility, and soldiers of the Soup. Until, Inevitably the drawbridge is breached, the end of my time finally reached. Slowly I surrender my feather sword, in this messy, mixed metaphorical world. The oven timer beeps and the phone rings, bringing me back to my life of mundane things.

Words and moments are sandcastles on the beach. Very clever and so creative, Crystol. Emotions certainly resemble the waves movement. Your ending brings a smile. :) Congratulations my dear friend, on Poem of the day. Remember, in dreams, anything is possible. :) Hugs, Brandy

What a great battle of words Crystol, loved all the metaphors and use of siege-like terminology, up until the oven beeps and brings the reader crumbling down into a sand-like state again, maybe you were heating up a sand-wich for lunch! congratulations on a well deserved POTD, cheers David

For me it's been a bit difficult writing much in the way of new stuff. Busy with life. Plus not feeling very inspired of late. I may post an old humor poem. As for yours, nice little bio explaining your creative process. Btw, what's fer dinner?

Oh man I hate to hear that but that kind of slump never lasts! You'll be at it again. Until then do what you do so well! Read others works and something might inspire you. I made chopped streak with peppers and onions on homemade sub rolls! And potato wedges and green salad. Still have peanut butter cookies from father's day for dessert. Yum! Yall come on over! Xo
