Notes About The Poem

Caress My Soul Sweet Poet

Love's tend'rest touch, your gentle words reveal
Caress my soul. sweet poet, with your verse
Write dulcet lullabies which make me feel
Secure, like infants held at breast to nurse

Turn tears of sadness into peaceful streams
Make whispered breezes whisk my strife away
Put passion in my fantasized daydreams
Paint troubles in to flowery bouquets

And even though I know they're not for me
I steal your soothing love just like a thief
This load I carry lightens suddenly
Because my broken heart has found relief

Your words are like a song, please sing to me
Sweet poet, how I love your poetry

Daniel, the message is beautifully conceptualized, and your implementation of it is superb. A first-rate composition by any measure. Cheers!

Aspects of love create a sonnet and this is a prime example. The turn in the third quatrain is clear and strong, the couplet is sublime.

I love this sonnet Daniel. I wrote quite a while back on the same notion a poem called "You The Poetess Fills My Nights" and I just put up another one. I prefer yours to both of mine. You are an excellent poet Daniel. I bow to your talent.

Thank you for the very flattering comments, Maurice but please no bowing. I think you are an extremely talented writer. Don't sell yourself short! I'm thrilled that you like the poem. You sir, should bow to no one. Let's just enjoy a mutual respect, that's a little more diplomatic:)

Hey! What a beautiful poem, Daniel! You are such a wonderful poet for sure! And so I know you won't mind if I make one suggestion: Instead of saying "wisp away..." I think you meant to say "WHISK away..." Okay? But, this is such a sweet poem. Thank you for sharing it. Carole
