This is the best explanation that can be given for the cat to be inside the cage. This is not only humorous, but also so very apt. Such thoughts can come only from a very intelligent head. I salute you dear Jan. This trophy is an an acknowledgement to you as an unbeatable limerick writer. Hearty Congratulations

Indeed, curiosity killed the cat. Well, as one owned by two cats, they are indeed a species singular. Poor kitty. Poe's Conqueror Bird. Well said.

An inversion of roles! A bird can be sly enough to hoodwink a cat, instead of vice versa. An enjoyable Limerick that elicits a big smile, Jan. Regards & Hugs // paul

Oh, Jan! Loved this witty write. I'm smiling away. Do you know I have 3 cats? My neighbours left behind two when they moved and I felt so sorry for them that I took them in. Took my cat a while to adjust but... we're a happy family for the most part. Great write!

Jan, I just ordered your first book on Amazon about two minutes ago. I don't know what notice you get, but it's being shipped to my address in NY under my son's name. I should have it on Wednesday. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner.

Thank you SO much Duke, I hope you get a good giggle from it - and knowing my sense of humour it is a little naughty lol and carries a 'risqué humour warning' on the cover. I'm working on book #2, toilet humour and risqué rhymes lol:-) hugs jan xx

Aww thanks Terry, I love the 'brilliant' bit especially lol, I've probably written well in excess of 600 limericks , I didnt start writing until 2013 (and was never a poetry fan at school ) but my hubby had cancer surgery, I wrote a few poems, I joined soup and started to write limericks after trying a soup contest and now it is my favourite form and I have many in my book and lots more new ones will be in book #2:-) hugs jan xx
