Butterflies and Sleepless Nights
Two worries rode the night horses,
Too many butterflies flying, body trembling.
How do I retrieve some lost information?
“Be still, I am watching over you!”
Why didn’t the pharmacy call?
Why didn’t the doctor call?
How should it be handled, my head is squeezing.
“Be still, I am watching over you!”
Black turned to gray, though the butterflies crowded;
The day must be faced, cannot be halted?
What do I do to solve these problems,
“Be still, I am watching over you!”
Oh, on the way to the kitchen I see my notes,
The lost information was never lost,
A few butterflies began to sleep;
“Be still, I am watching over you!”
After coffee I called the pharmacy;
The medicine was there;
The doctor had called.
“Be still, I was watching over you.”
Will I have learned in the dark of tomorrow?
That the problems didn’t exist,
Will the butterflies be at rest,
And You will be watching over me with love.
