Will I stop writing poetry
when my hands begin to tremble
and when my hair has fallen out?
When I'm short of breath,
my eyesight feeble
and my legs are weak?
When I lose my hearing,
my yearning for passion
and my craving for adventure?
What about when
I become forgetful
and cannot find the words?
What if I'm ill and
fall into an abyss where
the sun will never shine?
Will I stop writing then
knowing I can hardly
hold a thought or pen?
I should think not.
I don't think I'll ever
run out of things to say.
