Bruises and Other Hurt

"Please see my bruise" It tells the whole story It needs no explanation Other hurt Isn't on display to be understood instantly Other hurt Doesn't have a path and colour chart to tell me how close to healed I am Other hurt Won't pinpoint where will cause pain if pressed Other hurt Doesn't go on its own with the damage fixed without effort Other hurt Doesn't let people know to be gentle with you Other hurt Shouldn't have happened Like this bruise, it was accidental

Some hurts are visible. But some hurts are not on display. They may be internal and don't wish to be seen by others. At one time or other we are all susceptible to hurts. Profound as ever Dilly...

A very personally felt expression of unseen and perhaps unintentional hurt. I hope this isn’t how you actually feel, DD Well written and from the heart.

I'm on a bit of a journey Peter... Although I'm waiting for the bruise (landing awkwardly on my ankle, the event in another entry that probably isn't really a poem) and thinking about being interested for the bruise to come sparked an idea. A bit basic in expression but I think there's something deeper in not wishing to make a fuss but hoping for understanding and the helplessness of other hurt being ever healed and impossible to navigate
