“The broken pieces of our heart like shards of glass are difficult to be glued up. It needs great care and craftsmanship to mend it.” ~ By Poet The night stood, veiled like an assassin. Leaving aside the unfinished works, she curled into bed, tired. Thoughts once dead, like spirits, from another world came to haunt. They threatened to lacerate her, in the stillness of the night. Gagged by those ferocious demons she choked for breath. Chained and handcuffed, she couldn't move. Should she drink to the lees the dregs of the bitter potion? She couldn't wink an eye! She heard someone asking 'Why should you keep alive the past in an album and turn its pages every now and then'? But...she couldn't help...... Like serpents uncoiling, memories came. If she slept, they would strike. So she kept staring into the awful darkness broken and wide eyed!

Valsa, your poem is beautifully written and filled with vivid imagery that transports the reader to a magical world. Your words evoke a range of emotions, from the bittersweet to the tender, and your delicate vulnerability shines through each line. The pain you express resonates deeply, reaching into the very essence of one's being.

I could feel every poignant emotion and fragile vulnerability that you've infused in your evocatively articulated lines.. The darkness, it crawls on our hearts and takes the shape of the most shattering memories, making us numb and frozen, unable to come out of the eternal black hole.. Sigh. Sadly, I can relate with these soul stirring feelings.. So emotional.. A brilliantly carved piece for the prompt dear, love it.. "The night stood, veiled like an assassin", " Like serpent..memories came"wow!

Oh Valsa you certainly depicted "broken" The story that your intriguing verse took us through, made me quite emotional as I read. You captivated such a tense moment in here life, and for her to have to stay awake broken and wide eyed. Wow. A touching poem. Well done,

Fascinating, instructive write, to take to bed and also carry with one throughout the day. "Do not eat, thine own heart" -- what we hold in our minds, our hearts, we wear as a second skin. If we do not let go (forgive) of the crime best we can, the criminal is still assaulting us, has hold over us in the yet worst sense. We are attached, both outside and in, to that which we scar-fully retain. I know, easier said than done. But goes toward an eternity of supernatural health, warmth and love when such positive increments achieved.
