Broken-Hearted I Search

What happened to us my sweetheart, Where are the days of sweet love gone, How did so much change so fast, Why did our morning end before dawn? Where there was once a beautiful garden Only dandelions now grow so high, And in place of the vibrant butterflies A lonely sparrow silently flies. I remember how your face gleamed Blessed with the joy of adorable twins, Soon after something drove you insane When you took our kids for a short spin. Did you go to park, or the ice cream shop? Don't just sit there, please talk to me, How did they disappear on your watch? Where are our twins, where are my babies? I can't sleep anymore, I hear their cry, They need my love, they ache for my hug, It's been so long since I sang a lullaby, I want to hold tight, hold them so snug! They are just babies, they didn't abscond, I feel them near, but don't hear the hearts, I read them stories but they don't respond, No one can find them, I'm falling apart. I can't help them, when I hear their sigh, I'm reaching out, I won't surrender, As I yearn for their smile and miss their joy, You keep telling me you don't remember. Just tell me sweetheart, did you kill our babies? Did you just dump them without a goodbye? Drowned in my grief, your silence is killing me, Why don't you search, why don't you cry? First Place October 13, 2017 Broken-Hearted Sponsor: Broken Wings Note: Fiction-- Based on a true story in Maryland. A mother is charged for murder.

So heart rending is this cry of the father! This story has evoked deep feelings of pain in me. The husband here despite his deep grief doesn't use any harsh word against his wife, may be because she is affected by post partam depression.

It was likely post partum depression. IN other cases it's out of pure evil that such acts occur. You did very well capturing the sad heart break of this situation. A belated congrats. This is a poem of yours I had not seen yet.

This is such a sad and depressing write my friend, but so eloquently well written! I surely loved the way you wrote, "Drowned in my grief, you silence is killing me," just like the silence of the babies being gone, it would drive me insane, I would become a zombie and search forever for them, but in my heart they would always reside! I really enjoyed reading your incredible write this morning! What a stunning poem, Great Work!!
