You wiped away your tears You looked so sad and all alone I guessed it was bad news When you cast aside your mobile phone Come sit by my side use my shoulder to cry on, When life issues get us down we all need someone to rely on. I know times can be tough When your world seems to be falling apart And the one you loved wasn’t true Cos he left you with a broken heart Come sit by my side, use my shoulder to cry on, When life issues get us down we all need someone to rely on. Pick yourself up, don’t let him win We all learn from our past mistakes Give yourself some time to heal But it hurts so bad when your heart breaks Come sit by my side, use my shoulder to cry on, When life issues get us down we all need someone to rely on. Inspired by the Lyrics of Bridge over Troubled Water By Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel For Bridge Contest Sponsored by John Hamilton 09-10-17

This was surprising to me when I saw your name Jan, you see what you are capable of especially as I know you love this song, it is good to be inspired by the best songwriters(in my opinion) as is clearly evident in this write. Congrats on another fine win!

THANK YOU so much John I left it very late before even writing for the contest as I didn't think I could do justice to the theme, yes its one of my all time faves along with 'time to say goodbye' and immortality by Celine Dion and the BeeGees - all 3 are to be played at my funeral she says cheerfully!!!:-) hugs Jan xx

Hi Jan, You penned some good lyrics. You complimented the original song very well with amazing lyrics. I think Simon and Garfunkel would be proud. I wish you the best of luck in the contest:-) Alexis
