Bondage

Why am I clinging to life, Oh God? Why am I clinging to life? Whole world is going to die, but still, Why am I clinging to life? Cities will come and go, and Empires will rise and fall. Planets will break into pieces, but still, Why am I clinging to life? My life is going to end, and, The beauty will also end. My wealth and power will end, The virtue will also end. All Saints are going to die, and, The Sinners will also do. All Kings will die for sure, and, The Beggars will also do. Men I saw dying around, but Still I think I will not. We all are going to die, but Still I am clinging to life. Won third place in Dear Heart Poetry Contest sponsored by Silent One Honorable Mention in STRAND SELECT 10 ,any form ,any theme Poetry Contest sponsored by Brian Strand

Why? Why indeed? Maybe just because.

Congrats on your win, Jenish--you know last night you lived several lives--we all did--we call them dreams but they are as real as the daylight world. I learned in the hardest way possible as a young man that we are all immortal beings 'traveling' for a time in a fragile vehicle and that death is not a wall but a door-- the tricky part is where it will lead the individual soul--only God knows that. That is why faith [real faith, not dogma] is always hope's twin, and love, their big sister.

Intriguing topic and title, my friend... As for me, I may cling with all my might, but when my number's up, it's game over. ~ Clinging

Yes, Gershon..That is the right way.. Attachment is needed.. Not bondage.. Bondage brings sorrow when it breaks.. Thank you for your valuable insight..

See.. The difference between attachment and bondage is very small to recognize.. Thank you Eve for your valuable comment.. "Beginning of Everything".. lol.. don't do.. don't do.. I'm 'God's Gracious Butterfly'.. And the acrostic is already done..

there will be a point when the pain and exhaustion reach their limits, then the clinging stops - my mom asked my sis to let her go cos she was tired and never woke up from her sleep the night my sister finally did; she had cancer and the pain had just started. Dad and I were relieved as we couldn't bear the thought of pain for weeks on end with the painkiller cycles...she took her first morphine pill and slept forever..but while there was life, she lived it fully and I still remember her chiding us with "sleep is for the dead" whenever we just wanted to stay in bed :)

It is the trip through life that counts not its destination: Death! Life is an adventure, one can never live if he is not alive my dearest, friend Jenish. If God made things that way be certain He had His reasons that we mortals ignore! A fine poem with no much positivity. Beautiful though! Hugs

We fear the destination, and so count the trip.. It is sad Demetrios.. But is it not a reminder? Thank you my friend for your valuable words.. Words which I count.. And thanks for your insight.. Have a nice day!!
