I know its odd to say David but we are enjoying lock down- yes we cant see friends and family but it makes you appreciate the simple things in life.. like getting baking powder the other day after searching for 5 weeks and I felt I had won the lottery:-) hugs Jan xx

As the picture shows, blue jays are jealous of other blue jays, too much competition....Congrats!

No we have a Jay which is a member of the crow family and very different from this blue Jay, I've done a haiku about them will post it with a pic:-) hugs jan xx

O Jan, I've seen them mostly in winter so they're even more beautiful against a white background. There's a grey version too and they're fluffier.

Wondered why there is so many blue Jay haiku, it's a contest. I don't think I've ever seen one to be honest. Tom

They are not birds we will see Tom,we used to have a Jay visit our bird table in Birmingham, it was known as 'the pebble mill jay as its nesting ground was in the area of the tv studio in the next road to us:-) hugs jan xx

Thanks Ilene I've been reading about them and they certainly do get aggressive towards of the birds especially at feeding tables. , hope you and the family are all well:-) spoke to mum tonight its hard for her not to see us as we saw her almost every day but she is safe and well cared for that is the most important thing:-) hugs Jan xx

I've altered the middle line now Mo, I had to google this bird as our British blue Jays are so very different in behaviour and appearance so I've written another poem about them too:-) hugs Jan xx
