Blue Daisy
Weeping in sorrow I set my eyes on a blue daisy,
the dew it embraces seems to amaze me-
As I think of my lover, my eyes start to get hazy,
and all this sadness is driving me crazy.
I sat by the sill and watched her blow with ease,
but the gust came up and her petals did cease,
One petal landed on the weeping willow trees,
and I see the truth that nobody ever sees.
I can’t help but think that blue daisy is me today,
beauty with elegance with no verses to say-
When the wind comes too close my petals they sway,
and in that final moment my life swept away.
Maybe she too had a love that died in vain,
but I never once see that blue daisy complain-
Now on her blue bud I see a crimson stain,
where only heartache and woe remain.
Weeping in sorrow that blue daisy I embrace,
we are connected now, there’s nothing I can’t face-
Now the anguish is gone without a single trace,
I know now that no one can ever take my lover’s place.
