Blood Moon

end time harbinger, blood on the lunar tides, how you threaten mortal men and their earthly brides the cool blue of death masks the lip of starless sky reeking hellish revelations fearfully implied four horsemen gallop through the sea of blackest night pestilence, famine, war, death bring the Blood Moon's bite full blown the iris of the eye, no white is left life will end in bloody light leaving all bereft

Debbie, haven't read a couplet in a while, and yours was a real pleasure. The rhythm and rhyme have to be just so, and you did well. Gosh, I hope a few good poets aren't taken with the rest.

I can imagine the red moon was a frightening apparition to our prehistoric ancestors. Great job, Debbie. Love, Joyce

Great set of couplets, Debbie! I see you made Craig's correction or it would have been the four centaurs, he he! Apparently humankind is doing its best to make the Apocalypse happen, isn't it? Cheers, Roy

Debs. I appreciated your telling me what you believe in. I am kind of being drawn in that direction too. I am in an in-between place questioning so many things and yet still wondering about the things I was raised to believe. All I can say with certainty is that there is a creator. That is a fact that I think is undeniable by simply witnessing the order of the universe.

yup there is a creator, I often wonder though if there isn't more than 1 since there are more than one of everything else?

Among the slew of Blood Moon poems I've read since last week's lunar event, this is one of the best. Love that third stanza especially, Debbie. The darkness is to be expected, though it seems unique to most of what I've read from your page. Thanks too for the sweet comment on my Reshaping the Plea. I have been busy writing haiku for NAPOMO elsewhere and haven't spent a lot of time here. I truly appreciate the read and the reply.
