Blame Reversal
saunter through the rain
hoping no one sees you’ve cried
or spots your black eye
shift the blame from him to you
his torment you don’t deserve
each time he hit you
he told you it was your fault
ego deflated
you believed the lies he told
as he hid behind his mask
his anger issues
had never been caused by you
some are abusers
and when the blame turns to him
you’ll shed the weight you’ve carried
