Beyond Chaotic

The rain poured in torrents like tanks from the dense hanging clouds onto the homes, and streets- the river in time overflowed its banks. Soon the streets were impassible - all was lost but still people fought against the rising water, as houses disappeared bit by bit, hope was tossed. Dreams drowned in sheets of endless rain and the people stood back from their attempts, realizing it was the end and left- their souls in pain. Seeking sanctuary they sought safety leaving in crowded boats rain ravaged, only waves flow now and all that is left- is weeping. ________________________ May 6, 2017 Free Verse/Beyond Chaotic Copyright Protected, ID898265 Brian Strand May End Standard First Place

Hi Constance, an excellent write on the subject and it is so sad it is happening now. The rain can be a blessing for some and more a curse for others. The weather seems to be so acute these days in parts of the world. Your poem tells the truth we now must face. I do hope the rains shall subside soon. Take care. Hugs....Mike. XX In its sadness this piece is a seven.

I'm reminded of the scenes that played out this way during and right after Katrina. We were all in chaos and fleeing for our lives, and feared the worse when we were allowed to come home. The worse had happened. Excellent story telling in rhyme, Constance.

An excellent write, hitting home. Am so far safe where I am but it is flooding near my home too. I hope you and yours are dry and safe. xomo

From one extreme to another....where I live in South Africa, we're in the vicious grip of a drought and everything around us is dying...! I wish you could send us some of the rain you describe in your excellent poem! Hope it stops soon! Hugs...Sheila

This is happening in areas of my city and nearby cities, communities near rivers and lakes are being flooded out, there is little hope left now and people are seeking safety, helpless to save their homes, cars, belongings and the rain just will not stop and is expected to continue for many more days only making things much worse
