Being On Track

"all of us are on a journey and the answers are unspoken" Quote by _Constance La France It's the night And I can listen closely to the call Search my mind I just hear the blood pumping Like the sound of a distant train Perhaps accompanied by rain hitting paving Constant chug chug chug A sound of time passing And I listen closely Searching my mind Where the silence lies For there is no great reveal I'm not on a track like the fictional train Though I am incrementally moving forward There are no answers Whilst there will be station stops My journey dictates the view when I get there Whether I alight and enjoy it Or pass through on the sleeper The final destination Being the least important aspect Even staying on track Might be overrated I think I'll go on foot a while Let the rain fall on my face Wake me up Perhaps the night holds Some answers After all 2nd place Writing Challenge A Quotes - Poetry Contest 15th May 2023 Sponsored by: Constance La France
