Beauty Unrivaled

I gasped at what had been concealed, Its beauty suddenly revealed. A bit of Heaven come to Earth So awe inspiring that I kneeled. The blended hues of gold and green Enhance a most enchanting scene. I drank it in, God’s artistry. No man’s cathedral so pristine. No other human was around, My heartbeat was the only sound. It seemed created just for me, This bit of Eden I had found. I stayed until the end of day. Reluctantly I turned away. That glory I’ve not found again. Please lead me there, Dear Lord, I pray. one of multiple first place winners

Dear Joyce, Your first place win is unique in how you captured the feelings of having the entire scene ALL TO YOURSELF! Your beating heart was my favorite part...if that was the only sound, you most certainly were in a quiet paradise. Thanks for your support of this website...your contributions are enormous. loved your third line a bit of heaven come to earth. this was a wonderful and warm piece of poetry you penned here. thank you for reading Fort Sumter and for your comment. My Great-Father fought for the union and he was from Kentucky, they called him a traitor. He was killed in 1903 by his son-in -law over moonshine, will have to write a poem about that someday.
