Beautiful the Seashore
How still and beautiful the seashore in morning's twilight
Before the sun rises in a clarion yellow mass
Etching reflections of seabirds gliding on a sea of glass
Awed by such wondrous render when darkness takes flight
The waves are rhythmic, I stand in the wet sand and wonder
In the distance are red ribbons in dawn's sky to underscore
It holds my soul captive as the high tide rushes to shore
And rays of light pierce the horizon to split the night asunder
A prisoner of nature, captured between sun and sea
I'm bewildered and amused, trying to understand
The movement of time, as waves toss another grain of sand
To quietly remind me, only time will always be
And yet, upon this shore where beauty is boundless
Lighting a glorious glow in my soul in the palms of the view
Absorbing all that I am until I'm refreshed and new
And like the grains of sand, life seems timeless
