Everyone asleep In our dream state A very sound slumber All of a sudden-jolted awake The dog is barking In the early morning By a barking dog Nothing to be seen Barking at the darkness

My daughter's dog has taken to barking at night. For no reason. It awakes her. The dog must hear something. Sorry...for you both. I used to hear 18 wheelers revving their engines near my house. Horrible at 2am. We all. Need rest. May the barking stop! Panagiota

Hello Panagiota, sometimes my sister's dog would bark in the early morning at squirrels. Or another dog would bark somewhere outside,waking me up. It does not happen often, but it does happen. Thank you for the lovely comment. Have a nice day my friend.

Hello John,I so agree, when in deep slumber, to be awakened is not good. It is often I have been awaken from a deep sleep. Feeling tired the next day. have a nice day my friend.

Great my friend. I love dogs but it is a terrible thing if they bark at night and wake me when I so desperately need my sleep.

Ah...you describe this so well, Darlene! My neighbour's dog has a habit of barking at darkness, especially the moment I fall asleep! I think he needs a sleeping pill...and me too! Regards // paul

Darlene, I Enjoyed reading this well descriptive poem . They are very sensitive to noise. My husband would tell me that the dog always knew when I was near home.

When this happens, it is hard to get back in that dream again- upon that cloud. Perhaps wearing earplugs could help. :) Just a thought. ~ Brandy

Darlene our dog Bell doesn't make a sound til I walk outside. Then barks like crazy at nothing. It is though she wants to prove she is a good watchdog. I think she just a good actress. Have a great Sunday my friend!
