Back To Hell Damn You

BACK TO HELL DAMN YOU! Oh you bad, nasty, vicious Virus, You have taken my inspiration away, I have asked my muse for help, But she has gone to a remote Island did not want to stay. So I sit by my computer, Thinking what shall I write? No, start once more, this Is not at all right! Ah – yes that's a good topic, But I stare at the page, Now what do I pen, Where to from this stage! Come on Jennifer, what’s the problem, I become frustrated And feel, will I be the Same ever again? This virus is the devil And want to cry. Have watched both parents die, Lost my baby at five days, old, Got chickenpox at thirty five, And hijacked at gunpoint, Be strong fight on, be bold, I spoke to myself sternly! Suddenly, remembered my late Dad so tenderly, Thought I heard him whisper, In my ear, You’re doing well my girl, You have nothing to fear, For you, I’ll always be here! A calm came over me and I felt someone breathing, Close behind me, I got up, wow Welcome back muse my dear Gave her a hug and a kiss, I sensed and could hear, You over my shoulder, Together, we will become Better and bolder. No bad, nasty vicious virus, Will take my inspiration away, You wait you villain, you murderer Your Karma will be as, or more vicious To you, and your end will be Much celebrated by humankind For this devastating crisis You will pay and find, Bad cannot reign over good, For what seems like forever, Never, never, never!

That is very inspiring. Isolation also distracts me rather than giving me focus. Maybe it is the facemask. Kind wishes, Kai

Wow Jenny! You sure gave Coronavirus a right and proper telling off! Probably your muse was keeping her distance because of the virus!, but she certainly did not desert you! You beat many obstacles in life, and I am certain you will overcome this one as well. Take care, my friend. Warm regards & Hugs // paul

Very original; inspiring fun. Those muses do slip out every now and then; the big chickens! Still you know they can't stay away from us long. Enjoyed.

I can relate to this...my muse is hiding beneath the layers of fear, though I too have seen much death, been faced with great fear (at gunpoint as well) yet for some reason this is greater, maybe because the other things happened more quickly, without warning, and this, we can't see but watch its destruction over and over, like a bad dream recurring nightly... glad your muse came through though, powerful, great write! hugs and blessings

Thank you Sandy - I hope you are keeping well - your comments are always a pleasure to read - at gunpoint is horrible but God brought such a calm over me when It happened, I thought It was just dreaming and was waiting for the gun to go off, but they suddenly left. Be safe dear Sandy, you are the sweetest friend. Blessings, Jennifer.

Jennifer, Instinct of a survivor, yes. This is war with casualties all around. Parents, we miss them in the hard times. Wonder what they would tell us these days. And where would the comfort come from in this bomb shelter world. To lose your child at 5 days old, I'm so sorry, truly. -Richard

Thank-you Richard, a heartfelt comment - no matter our age we still miss our parents and in a way I'm glad they are not here experiencing it with us, but we know, they know what's going on, and are our guardian angels. Bless you Richard, Hugs, Jennifer.

I am truly moved by your strength and honesty dealing with such loss Jennifer. I am happy your muse returned as we poets need them in our lives. Poetry helps us purge, helps us cope. This is a beautiful positive look at a future when the virus will be behind us. I hope you had a wonderful Easter my friend. Blessings xxoo

Thank-you for a thoughtful comment SO, I agree that we must be strong and pray and have faith. The birth of my beautiful son and after being divorced for 12 years, meeting up with my first love in my life and marrying him 20 years ago, helped towards making up for the all the heartache. The hi-jacked at gunpoint incident happened after Elias and I were married, about seven years ago. Safe thoughts from across the pond to you and your family. Blessings, Jennifer

U asked about my roots? Part of KZNs 1869=0 settlers (Brits carried us from motherland to Natal). So, i have lived in USA on and off since 1983, but feel most at home in RSA. Love the Greeks, had Irene (PEACE) as girl in Bloomington Indiana in the 1980s. Loved Greeks ever since (O I teach Civilizations, too)

Don't go to USA now (over 300,000 infected with COVID19). I have 2 daughters there. Taught in USA since 1985, back "home" to lecture philosophy & Political Sc at Durban-Westville in 1988, back to Johns Hopkins in 1991. Just a year at Fort Hare (Alice campus). Connected with Liberty University, online, now. (They re-opened it so soon after COVID safety & got into a huge controversy). Irene'

Hi Harry, You made me shed a tear, your kindness really touched me. Thank-you my good friend. I guess I am a fighter. I was the son my father never had, but when I turned 13 he said, well my son has left and in his place, I suddenly have a wonderful teenage daughter! I try to be as positive as I can be. Amazing comment, keep safe and well, Jennifer.

Hi Tom, you are such a kind, selfless individual, I am proud to be your friend. Thank you for a lovely comment, things to come our way to tempt us, but this creep virus thinks we are all under his deadly motives - the time for revenge will be twofold God and humankind! Blessings Tom, Jennifer
