Awake To God S Touch

Dedicated to Charlie Cooper, poet brother, R.I.P. , Awake to God’s Touch +++ Desperate prayers Shouted, even silently Howling heavenward: Begging, pleading Again For God to come… Poignant prayers Revealing struggles, And needing help to go on through Present straits; to be Embraced through Aloneness and fears. Those prayers pause Often near despair — feeling ignored: With no attained communion felt. But, child of God, Know that in your Seeking… Is of God’s leading, And his calling, his Touching invitation That brought you to Your asking-prayers. Our most holy **I AM** stays …Wanting, waiting For you to sense and — at last…realize he Is ever-present Within your Believing, opening, *Expecting*heart… ———————————————— (c) sally young Eslinger 9/16/21 Thanks be to God

Sally, Your poem is a fine tribute to your poet friend. What in friendship do we learn best? how to care for others. Still very sad to come this far, only to leave a heart behind in kindness. -Richard

Thanks, Richard, for coming by and commenting, a most touching comment. I can see the Lord’s work along every point in my life, from birth. I wish Charlie had of his own, tho now he does…God bless you! Sally

This is a very poignant work...and powerful. I believe God loves all of us -- never deserts us; allows painful things to happen, not to punish us, but for higher purpose and unfoldment. I truly believe, in time, not necessarily our definition, all will be made right beyond expectations and even our wildest imaginations. I approach all poetry (even the lighthearted words) as if a precious prayer -- a conversation with God. God is never not listening, nor is He ever uninvolved. Blessings!

Joe, I agree. But many do see “bad” things as punishment from God. In the old days when church types roamed hosp’s to encourage patients, kids like me were told having greater faith would cure my diabetes. So wrong 4 so many reasons. I have been 2 yrs so far learning to praise God 4 my phys pain xox glad you like this poem!
