Awaiting Her Return

She kissed me as she walked across the floor the kind of kiss that sets a lonely tone my heart sank at the sound of closing door and left my spirit feeling all alone to fam’ly obligations she must tend and care for ailing dad her main concern while I am left behind for self to fend just sitting here awaiting her return I wonder is this but an awful curse for evil doings somewhere in the past that I must bear a living so adverse and pay with happiness as die is cast I pass my time with feathered quill in hand and pen my poems to cover up my yearn just marking time in life so very bland while sitting here awaiting her return

We both pen poems to cover our yearn, a useful tactic designed to help us cope, I feel this one deep! John

Thanks, John, writing is certainly a useful diversion and sometimes just a good place to dump when we need to. John

As time moves on couples firmly become one and even a day without each others company can become lonely. But great joy you'll have John when she returns. A verse from the heart well written. Tom.

My eyes are misty while reading these words from your pen. Never doubt yourself, or your worth. Even around moments of distress and loneliness- you are doing your best. Writing these emotions sometimes helps the heart. Many blessings to you my dear friend. ~ Brandy

Loneliness when a loved one leaves is palpable. It happens the second they walk out the door. I hope things get back to normal...a good normal. Great poem
