Autumn

E-gads! I wanted to enter
this contest...now, not an adjective left -- 
Any attempt to describe would be theft! 

Nothing related to do, but visit my mountain kin, 
Jethro and Sue -- having finished my last jug of 
moonshine gin, back I go to family distillers – enjoy 
your crisp leaves and darling speckled colors, ‘tis also 
the season 
for clear Applejack lovers!

There's a certain comfort in familiarity -- that we all gravitate toward. Probably why my wife still keeps me around:) Here, I was just poking some fun at ourselves, while trying to stretch my boundaries of creativity a bit...more for a laugh. Laughter comforting also. Probably, after food and safe shelter, a quest for wholesome novelty is our greatest challenge in life. A lack of it, often leads to destructive behavior. Thank you, Anne.

I suppose Autumn is the most write about topic these days. I must have written about thirty poems on Autumn or mentioning Autumn. I liked your poem but, hey don't get drunk :)

Autumn is a much celebrated topic. So whatever a poet writes may sound a repetition of how another poet has described it. But your writing is unique.

Nothing wrong with repetition -- each of us is individual, so always a personal flare -- this was written just for fun, a playful dig on just how difficult it is to write good poetry, all the considerations for an author that goes into writing an interesting poem. Thank you, Valsa.
