Antiques in the attic, amazing oil paintings are coated with thick dust. Albums of photographs, await my teary eyes. Auntie has passed away and I must clear her house. Inspired by Pleiades A contest 10th August 2016

Hi Jan, i do not know the form so i can't comment on that, I can say that as a poem this is brilliant. I can just picture this so easily in my mind. The paintings covered in dust, the albums of photos the tears would come for an aunt. Reality wrapped up in an excellent poem. THis has to be a seven Jan. Excellent write. Higs....Mike. XX

Thanks Mike - I'd never written this form before the contest and in the end I wrote 2 poems - I now wish I'd put this one in the contest but its too late now ... but of course the joy is I wrote 2 poems and have gained more experience with my writing:-) hugs Jan xx

Wow Jan...this emotive piece has winner written all over it! The ease with which this seems to be written disguises how difficult Pleiades are to create with their strict syllable count and form. I am really impressed with this entry! It leaves mine in the dust. Haha. Hugs, Connie ; )

Always sad to clear the house of someone dear to us, and newly departed. I pause, and think of my possessions--and how many I will take with me. Happy that I write, for words do seem to last a bit longer than most other things. Blessings!

Vividly captured, Jan, that dreadful chore we will all face, yet often tinged with sparkly little flecks of a fond memory. Lovely write, Viv x

I found it traumatic clearing my parent's house especially with mum going into the care home and there is only a finite amount of stuff she could take:-( :-) hugs Jan xx
