Atlantis Bound (For Carolyn)

ATLANTIS BOUND (for Carolyn) Why this urge to dream? Why this boundless circular empty place in mind? A need to shut one’s eyes? Atlantis bound? Donnellys and Cayces? That great oceanic round? As surely as life exists As surely as mind’s invention The hollow shall be filled Where was nothing before Those gadzillions of matter will come together Will fuse sightless together The roar of steel will fill the streets Or only the plick of a plastic chip but It comes together Atlantis bound Past the Gates of Hercules Deep deep drowned

As you know, dear Daver, I have visions of Atlantis painted in my mind - a castle on a cliff where liquid valleys wind between the blue and green and all the shades of light that fall between - the difference of awake and in a dream. Do not let go of your dream. Dave. I can see your novel in the bookstores. Love, Lainie

Obviously, I love this poem. The intrigue created by the lore of Atlantis is well expressed. Perhaps one day the remains of the lost continent will be found and the "hollow shall be filled" as the pieces of the story come together. One for my favorites, Daver. Thanks! Love, Carolyn
