Atlantis Bound (For Carolyn)
ATLANTIS BOUND (for Carolyn)
Why this urge to dream?
Why this boundless circular empty place in mind?
A need to shut one’s eyes?
Atlantis bound?
Donnellys and Cayces?
That great oceanic round?
As surely as life exists
As surely as mind’s invention
The hollow shall be filled
Where was nothing before
Those gadzillions of matter will come together
Will fuse sightless together
The roar of steel will fill the streets
Or only the plick of a plastic chip but
It comes together
Atlantis bound
Past the Gates of Hercules
Deep deep drowned
